Mobile Medical Assistant
The Mobile Medical Assistant (MMA) is a PDA developed specifically for communication between patients and doctors providing telemedical care.
The MMA receives measurements
from telemedically integrated devices such as scales, blood pressure meters,
ECG or activity sensors. It forwards these automatically via GPRS or UMTS to
the Aipermon Service Center. From there they are forwarded, as with the Homebox,
to the relevant database.
The Mobile Medical Assistant can be used as a fully-fledged communication device. Apart from sending data, it can also transmit responses from the medical supervision centre. In this way, medical recommendations, current information or status reports on the current state of health, for example, can be displayed. In addition the patient can send the doctor supervising him health-relevant information, such as how he is feeling subjectively, information on sleeping patterns, on the intensity of pain or on the effects of medication.
The MMA is the central technical component of the AiperCoach Mobile system.
