Monitoring of physical acitivity
With the AiperMotion activity sensor (accelerator), Aipermon has developed a new medical measuring instrument that enables the long-term measurement, assessment and motivation of physical activity of the user, under everyday conditions.
For the first time, this allows extensive everyday exercise programmes, which specify a health-promoting amount of exercise for each day, and measure and show the success of this. Daily exercise to promote health can involve going for walks, working in the garden, intensive housework or covering specific short distances on foot. Sport may form a component of the programme, but is not a condition for a health-promoting amount of exercise.
Exercise programmes with medical/specialist supervision suited to everyday situations are becoming increasingly important for the growing number of people who want to be active despite illnesses, and who, despite restrictions, want to do something about their health. Examples of this are cardiac exercise groups, medically supervised offers of fitness studios and the wellness branch, as well as slimming groups with medical and fitness supervision.
AiperMotion as a stand-alone device
If the AiperMotion is used as a stand-alone device, it records and saves the physical movements of the user in everyday situations for 7 days. The user himself can set up targets in the device, thereby motivating himself to complete the everyday exercise programme each day. Variance analyses document the success.
AiperMotion in a guided programme
For providers of prevention programmes and exercise programmes, and for companies offering their employees health promotion measures, Aipermon has developed components for getting to know and setting up physical activity programmes.
These consist of :
- event concepts
- weekly and monthly programmes
- leasing concepts
In addition we will be pleased to advise you on your concrete application.
AiperMotion in Telemonitoring
The integration of the AiperMotion activity sensor into telemonitoring, for example with the AiperCoach Home system, enables guided long-term use on the everyday conditions. Providers can develop continuously supervised everyday exercise programmes, and permanently check the success of these. Everyday physical activity is recorded, initially stored in the device and transmitted to the supervisor at intervals of a maximum of 7 days.
The use of AiperMotion activity sensors enables users and supervising specialists:
- to document performances achieved continuously and on a long-term basis,
- to measure and evaluate the efficiency of programmes, and
- to individually adjust programmes on the basis of results achieved
- setting up individual programmes.
The positive effects of a supervised programme can be verified in detail for the first time. For the providers of the programmes, this opens up new approaches in customer relations and allows the efficiency of every programme to be checked.
Other relevant vital parameters, such as weight or blood pressure, can in addition be measured, sent and evaluated daily when using an AiperCoach system.
For the participants in the programmes there is a considerably wider range of support, with improved quality, with a high motivation through everyday care, and the assurance of knowing that you are doing the right thing, and in the right amounts. The possible success of such a coupling of telemonitoring and long term coaching shows a family study in adiposity conducted by the Medical Department of Magdeburg University.
Weight Management with AiperMotion
One of the three main causes of being overweight and of obesity is the lack of movement. Successful treatments also aim to make a change in life style incl. movement behaviour. Until now a continuous observation and evaluation of everyday activity was not possible.
Aipermon, with the AiperMotion accelerometer provides the chance for the first time to observe physical activity and measure everyday activities continually and in the long term. Targets for everyday activity and sporting activities can be set. It can be measured whether these targets are maintained. Movement patterns can be tracked, from getting up, to going to bed.
Achieving targets that can be verified daily increases self-motivation. Even small changes in behaviour – such as using the stairs instead of taking the lift, walking around the house instead of sitting still on the couch – are recorded and evaluated.
The AiperMotion activity sensor can be used as a stand-alone device, as a measuring instruments within a managed slimming programme, or as a component of a telemonitoring system together with other medical measuring instruments, for example scales.
